Saturday is traditionally market day

São Brás de Alportel Market

In keeping with local tradition, we do our marketing on Saturdays for the few days that follow. For a change and because it came highly recommended , we set off for the market in São Brás de Alportel. It’s much smaller than the Olhão market but equally interesting. I learned the hard way, that one must buy fresh eggs when you see them, otherwise the chance is gone!

It was a planned meet up of Randy, Marc, Patricia, Gary and myself with a walk about and then lunch at a local restaurant.

And then it was time to head back to Estoi where I chose to go for another short hike. I caught sight of two hoopoe birds and attempted to get a photo…not successful…kept following..until I realized I was on private property! Abrupt about turn and retired quickly!

And so another day in my escape from winter comes to an end.

You are certainly smart to be away for the month of March.  It has been a cold one here!!  🙂 Love youCarol
