Mountain climbing, again! This time, not so high and they provided concrete stairs for part of the upward climb.

It was the usual suspects that gathered at the trail head of Cerro da Cabeça outside of Moncaraphaco. It’s not as high as Sao Miguel and further east. Randy, Harald, Patricia and Gary, myself and Jackson set out on a leisurely hike under cloudy skies. It was quite warm and soon the jackets and hoodies began to come off as we tackled the fairly steep, upward climb. Once we reach the observation point where the small look out tower is, the trail levels off for a fair distance before it begins the descent on the other side.

We all arrived back at the starting point where we went our separate ways for lunch. I decided on “O Victor” in Estoi and wasn’t disappointed. Managed to demolish an entire Dorado (fish), boiled potatoes, salad, sages, and coffee. Hiking makes for a good appetite. On the way back to the Quinta, I took a few shots of the village.

And thus, another day comes to a close with more adventures on the horizon.
