House is done, we say goodbye

Friday October 24, 2025

The week has zoomed by without one dull moment and suddenly it’s departure day. After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we headed to the Hub and finished house. We all attended the ceremony of house blessing and handing the legal documents to the owners. All of the ceremony was accompanied by generous donations of food, mattresses and beds, and clothing for the family. It all occurred because of the financial support of John and Inge Lawson and the Ellerbeck family. We also stopped at Mary’s house that was repainted and hung a new Pure Art logo on the front. In between those two events, I had the opportunity to visit Luis’s house and say hello to his parents. Luis wasn’t home having gone to work earlier. I’m very happy to report he is doing well and his parents seemed pleased to see me. I also met up with Blayden, a young lad I met five years ago while building the house for Luis. Brayden was very good at pounding nails into hardwood. I did the ones on the ladder. He did the ones he could reach from the ground. Today, he is taller than I am and attending high school. His dream is to become an engineer.

And we say goodbye! Next stop, Cusco!
