Food for thought

Tuesday, January 7, 2020 dawned in Estoi, Portugal and it was time to shop for provisions. My friends, Randy and Marc kindly provided supper the previous evening and Randy obligingly carted me off to the grocery store the following morning.

A a short walk of about an hour in a loop behind the quinta completed my first full day in the Algarve as the sun went down.

The almond trees are beginning to burst into bloom. They always remind me of apple blossoms in the size, shape and colour. For me, they’re a harbinger of spring but it’s only January.

  1. Oh how wonderful that you are there James!!! I’m only too certain that it was a relief to plant your feet on Portuguese ground, and hopefully sand, before too long.

I’ll be looking forward to your stories about your days and the pictures that go with them.

    1. It was an amazing feeling to return to the Algarve. Having a sense of familiarity meant it felt like coming home. My winter break home. Haven’t had my bare toes in the sand but that will happen, soon. xoxoxo, James
