Five Feet, Nine Inches Above Ground

Birthdays come but once per year and mine is February 9 – this year a Friday. A huge thank you to Randy and Marc who treated me to lunch at Gunther’s Restaurant. What a great way to start the celebrations!

Friday was a mix of rain, wind and sun but there were plans afoot at the quinta for a Saturday afternoon BBQ created by Sven & Sven. This involved a shopping trip on Friday afternoon by Sven and myself for supplies. The fun continued!

I should point out that Sunday was to be the beginning of Carnaval with parades in various towns that would also happen on Monday & Tuesday. The skies poured rain on Sunday, unfortunately. Saturday, however, turned out to be the perfect day for a birthday BBQ.

A huge THANK YOU is also due to my friends and neighbours, Sven & Sven, Guido & Karine and Os & Sue plus from further afield Randy & Marc and Patricia & Gary. It was a memorable occasion and a lot of fun. Sven, our BBQ chef, did a magnificent job and has my gratitude for making it all work!

And thus my journey around the sun was completed and relaunched in the Algarve.
